Could it be the next generation road and gravel bike?
The G4 combines the best of upright and recumbent bicycles. It is a practical, high performance machine that effectively integrates and engages the rider for a uniquely satisfying riding experience. The G4 is easy to ride, accelerates and climbs like the best upright bikes, and has the speed, comfort and safety of the best recumbents.
The front wheel drive G4 has the foot pedal crankset mounted on the front fork steering axis. A new principle of operation lets the seated rider use their full body to pedal and apply supplemental upper body power, very much like when standing to pedal a conventional upright bike. No supplemental mechanism is necessary. Aerodynamic disk wheels can be routinely used on both the front and rear, even in blustery wind.
The prototype G4 performance and comfort was demonstrated by winning the World Ultra Cycling Association (WUCA) Recumbent Bicycle 12 hour Time Trial National Championship. This was on May 22, 2021 at Mount St. Mary's University, Emmitsburg, MD.
The G4 is new and different. It is a better bike for more people, current riders and those not comfortable on upright bikes. Could it be the new standard sold across the country and around the world? The USPTO has approved the first G4 patent and it is now available to license.
The G4 Bike was featured on the Laidback Bike Report of July 11, 2021. That presentation can be viewed at https://youtu.be/5YVGB8RZ31o starting at minute 34 of the program.
The heavily illustrated slides, which explains the G4 and how it was developed, the referenced document and video clips are all provided below.
